Yesterday we went shopping for an interview outfit for me. Apparently interviews are serious business here in Germany, especially if you happen to be an engineer, which I happen to be. It's not like interviews are not important elsewhere it is just that here it seems like you really have to make an impression once you manage to get your self an one. I have, next Wednesday at 11 am. So for this reason we had to go get some new shoes, new belt, new shirt new tie. All put together, I almost look like a man.
Yesterday afternoon I did not have the slightest idea on how to tie a neck tie. But, after some googeling and a lot of practise in front of our mirror I am now proud to say that I am able to do the simple (or English) knot, the double simple knot, the single Windsor and the double Windsor knots, all with a length error no greater than 0.5 cm. Not bad for one days practise. I'm impressed, are you impressed?

Congratulations to the interview! I'm sure you'll do great!
Good to hear that you've mastered the art of tying a good knot :) I'm always doing a windsor myself, learned it when I was elven or twelve and haven't looked back since.
I too do prefer the single (or half) Windsor as well. It looks great and is fairly simple to get right. It is a good choice for the concious engineer of today .
I am impressed...
Lycka till på intervjun! Jag vill se blider på slipsknutarna innan jag tror dig ;)
> Nisse : Tack! Ska se om det gar att fixa lite bildbevis pa knutarna. Far halla utkik har tills dom kommer.
Merde! I can't seem to lern how to tye the perfect tie-knot. I will forever stay a little boy. Sad.
Pls update with your progress on the interwiev-front!
Björn,
finaly I can talk about ties around you and you will know what I am talking about. I am truly impressed that you got it in so short a time. I still haven't.
But to be honest I do have to disagree with you on your statement on the half windsor knot. In my opinion the dubbel is the one to go for.
Best regards / Sir Mikael Norberg
